Doing Open Mic as an Introvert

When I play guitar and sing in front of others, I get this feeling that's a weird potion mix of fear, perceived competence, comfort, excitement, and space. It's cool and unusual.

Anyway, I get a lot more energy in small groups, with close friends, or being alone. I'm not shy, but a naturally inclined observer. I've identified as an introvert for as long as I remember, so sharing my music with others has been quite slow and steady. This doesn't mean I don't enjoy it. It just means it's a little harder for me. Anyone else an introvert? Can you relate?

This video is from an open mic at Lestat's on November 28th, 2016. Thanks to my friend Cody for getting the action and to all my rad friends that came out and supported.

Open Mic at Lestats 11.28.16 Thanks to my friend Cody for the video. Now I can re-watch how many times I mess up in 7 minutes! Haha! :) Always my own harshest critic. All in all, super fun and a great time!

Lyrics - I Got Old (Original)

Say I'm the one you think you want
Well I think different
When push comes to shove
You toss aside
Dear love
The truth can't hide

Count me in on your foolish ways
Throw them out to sea (see)
Time can have all the clever lines
Leave me out to dry, set me free

Well I guess I got old

Well I guess I got old like the promise from you
Old like the daze that we fused
Cold matches confused
No fire forgets the doom
Or the way you moved

You moved
You move
You move

Count me in on your foolish ways
Throw them out to sea (see)
Time can have all the clever lines
Leave me out to dry, set me free

Well I guess I got old
Well I guess I got old
