Music City Singing Me the Blues

Like a river flows surely to the sea
Darling, so it goes
Some things are meant to be
// Elvis Presley //

My time in Nashville felt short. My life right now...it's like a thunderstorm. And surely I was caught in a downpour in Nashville, once by the Grand Ole Opry (okay, I was at Opry Mills with my parents because my dad loves Tommy Bahama) and once in Graceland where The King himself laid in reverence to the sky's emotional meltdown. Even so, I would've welcomed the rain once more.

That's not to say I didn't find cleansing in watching my little sister play soccer for the first time for Lipscomb University (seriously, look how rad she is) and cute little Y8/9 run up to her with a roster poster to get her autograph. She shrugged it off when I applauded her, but it really is special. To be a role model, inspiration, and motivation to others --- what an honor. Dom, keep it up, you're doing it right, girl.

Mortality has been singing to me often these past couple months and I couldn't help but find repose among the remembered and forgotten at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Nashville. Yea, it's been singing to me, and I've been singing to it.
