Featured Speaker for Audience Takes the Stage at Creative Mornings

"You should totally submit a talk for this!"

"I don't know. I'm not even sure what I would talk about. Plus, speaking in front of people makes me nervous."

::cue exaggerated sigh and awkward face::

This is how it started. A frequent attendee of Creative Mornings, a monthly breakfast lecture series for creative types (including entrepreneurs, developers & crafters), I'll admit I was skeptical submitting a talk for their Audience Takes the Stage in December. They have amazing talks each month so it's intimidating.

The theme was "Context" and when I finally came up with an idea, I wasn't expecting to be asked to expound on it. But there I was on a phone call with Creative Mornings going over logistics and listening to a much needed pep talk. Alright, it's a 5 minute speech. I got this, after all.

I felt less nervous when I found out that my friend Meredith was also asked to speak -- yay social support! After listening to the four other talks at Audience Takes the Stage the day of, I felt pretty honored to get to share the stage with four amazing individuals in the San Diego community.
